Walking Can Help You Feel Better
Back to topIf you're living with chronic pancreatitis, symptoms like fatigue or abdominal pain may make it difficult to move consistently. That's okay. Remember it's a marathon, not a sprint. What matters most is creating a routine that works with your body, not against it. Starting with even a few minutes of movement a day can help improve digestion, reduce stiffness, and lift your mood.
Watch this video to learn how starting a walking program can help you manage pain:
Let's go for a walk!
Back to topChoose a time and place to walk. Pick a time of day when you feel most comfortable, like after waking up or in the evening.
Start small.
Try the video's example:
- 5 minutes of slow walking (warm-up)
- 5 minutes of brisk walking
- 5 minutes of slow walking (cool down)
- You can always do less if needed. The goal is to move safely.
Add time slowly.
- Each week, you can add 5 more minutes to your brisk walking if you feel okay.
- Listen to your body.
